The Clive Community Foundation (CCF) is a conduit for residents, businesses and other stakeholders to donate funds for the betterment of our community.
CCF can accept gifts of cash and appreciated assets, real estate, bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and gifts designated through a life insurance policy, IRA or 401(k) plan.
Donors can contribute to endowed funds, annual fundraising initiatives or support the operations of the organization. Tax benefits vary depending upon the type of contribution.
1. Endowed Funds
- Named Fund
- Donor-Advised Fund
- Field-of-Interest Fund – reflects a broad range of interests a donor may have such as civic organizations, food banks, art and culture, etc.
Named or Donor-Advised Fund Benefits:
» You recommend grants to your favorite charities. Gifts from your fund will be made in your name or the name you choose for your fund.
» You receive immediate tax benefits, but can give over time.
» Your assets grow through investment, allowing you to give more.
» You can establish an endowment as a legacy that will support the community in perpetuity.
Field-of-Interest Fund:
» You contribute to an existing endowment and you join a group of individuals and businesses with similar interests and desire to create long-term financial support.
» Your name will be included as a donor unless otherwise designated.
» You receive immediate tax benefits and your contribution makes a long-term impact.
2. Annual Fundraising Initiatives
Annual fundraising initiatives are designated to specific programs as defined by the CCF Board in support of community needs. These are pass-through funds with no minimum required.
Annual Campaign Benefits:
» You express your commitment to a specific initiative supported by the CCF Board and join others to quickly grow the charity.
» Your name will be included as a donor unless otherwise designated.
» You receive immediate tax benefits from your contribution.
3. Operations Support
- Endowed Operating Fund – 5% can be self-granted per year and qualifies for the endow Iowa Tax Credit. Contributions to the endowed operations ensures long-term viability of the CCF as an umbrella for numerous endowments and your receive immediate tax benefits from your contribution.
- Unrestricted Operating Fund – is a pass-through fund designed to be the operations account for the CCF and does not qualify for Endow Iowa Tax Credits. Federal and state charitable tax deductibility applies. You share your dedication to the efficient operations of the CCF and are recognized by name in promotional materials.
