
Susan Judkins
Donor Relations
Susan Judkins joined the Clive City Council in 2013. She works as Client Development Director for RDG Planning and Design, a firm with expertise in architecture, landscape architecture, planning, interiors, art, multimedia, engineering and water resources.
Prior career activities involve founding and leading economic and leadership development programs, launching the state’s successful Vision Iowa program, advising communities on project financing, and guiding passage of critical legislation following Iowa’s 2008 floods. Her broad experience with city government began as a library aide in her hometown of Vinton, Iowa, and included service as Director of Governmental Affairs for the Iowa League of Cities.
She has a BA in Business Management from Simpson College and an MBA from the University of Iowa.
Susan’s community involvement includes current board service with BRAVO, Iowa Women in Architecture and the Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association. She is interested in water quality policy and projects, and is active with several watershed groups. She represents Clive on several Watershed Management Authorities. She is also coordinating a new Iowa Climate Assessment.
Susan and her husband, Bob Josten, have made Clive their home since 2006. They have three adult daughters: Jennifer Josten, Ph.D., Chair and Associate Professor, Department of History of Art and Architecture, University of Pittsburgh; Whitney Judkins, JD, Timmer & Judkins Law Firm in Des Moines; and Erin del Ninno, MD, Capital Women’s Care in Silver Spring, MD.
