As many of you are aware, on May 20 of this year there was a serious fire in the building where Clive Community Services was located. The tremendous work they perform in the local community suffered a major disruption.
The cleanup phase has been completed and a new general contractor has been hired for the rebuild phase which should begin in the next few weeks. There are no solid estimates on when they will be finished with the rebuild. Much will depend on the contractor being able to avoid supply and material delays.
In the meantime, Clive Community Services is continuing mobile services. DMARC offers food on days when CCS is open. The selection is somewhat limited but it’s the best that can be offered at this time. Des Moines University is providing their mobile clinic in the CCS parking lot.
The remaining clothing that wasn’t affected by the smoke and water damage is being given away.
Due to limited storage capacity for clothing and other items, the best way to support CCS is through monetary contributions. With your help they can continue to provide some of the services to local residents who have come to depend on Clive Community Services over the years.
