Cirksena, who is currently the mayor of Clive, has been a volunteer board member to the Foundation since its inception in 2013. The new executive committee named to lead the Foundation include:
• Scott Cirksena, president
• Jon Garnaas, immediate past president
• Jane Fogg, vice president
• Lu Anne Gafford, secretary/treasurer
• Bob Landess, at-large board member
• Jill Miller, donor relations
Also elected to serve as Clive Community Foundation board members are Clive residents:
• Robert Forte, Martin Health Service, Johnston
• Ruth Heithoff, property manager, PDM Company
• John Rigler, president and chief operating officer, Peoples Bank
“I am so proud to serve the Clive Community Foundation and support its mission to fund local causes and organizations that directly benefit our community and enrich our quality of life,” said Cirksena. “I especially welcome these talented individuals who see the value in meeting the needs of the underserved in our community. The city of Clive will greatly benefit from their time, talents and dedication to serve.”
The primary areas of focus for CCF include improving Quality of Life (investments in Clive’s greenbelt, parks and trails, public art and educational programming); Community Health (funding local outreach that benefits low-income Clive residents, including food assistance, nutrition and health management programs) and Community Collaboration (working with existing Clive organizations, neighboring cities and foundations). Cirksena notes that CCF always welcomes individual and business donations. Funds are distributed at an annual awards ceremony each December.
