Clive Community Foundation Awards Legacy Grants
Foundation gives $11,500 to local human services organizations
CLIVE, IOWA – November 1, 2021 – Just in time for the holiday season, the Clive Community Foundation (CCF) is awarding $11,500 in grants to two Clive-area human services non-profit organizations. The 2021 grant recipients are Clive Community Services and the Clive Lions Club. Clive Community Services will receive $10,000 to support its ongoing human service programs, which has a heightened need in 2021. The Clive Lions Club will receive $1,500 for its annual holiday basket project.
“As the community continues to face the health and economic challenges prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we feel we must do all we can to address Clive’s quality of life initiatives. These two programs meet that need,” said Jane Fogg, Clive Community Foundation president. “CCF is pleased to award these legacy grants in an effort to ensure that the 2021 holiday season shines bright for our local community.”
The mission of CCF is igniting philanthropy through education, advocacy, and pride in our beautiful, safe, and distinct city. These grants will specifically address food insecurity and services for local families. Primary areas of focus for CCF include:
- Improving Quality of Life (investments in Clive’s greenbelt, parks and trails, public art and educational programming);
- Health and Wellness (funding local outreach that benefits low-income Clive residents, including food assistance, nutrition and health management programs); and
- Community Collaboration (working with existing Clive organizations, neighboring cities and foundations).
“In 2022, CCF will enter its second decade of raising and sharing money to the local organizations standing ready to help,” Fogg said. “Both of these human services groups lead through action, and we hope these funds help them maintain their vital work.” CCF donors can still make 2021 year-end tax-deductible contributions. Additionally, dollars invested in CCF may also qualify for an Endow Iowa Tax Credit, thereby increasing the tax benefit for the donor and extending the foundation’s reach.
