
Bethany Wilcoxon
Vice President
At McClure, Bethany Wilcoxon leads the community development team in developing and guiding cross-discipline planning opportunities. She manages Imagine Iowa Great Lakes, a $36 million beautification initiative for the Okoboji area. She serves as a consultant managing Capital Crossroads, 63-member Steering Committee. She is a member of the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.
She has led Iowa’s Soil & Water Future Task Force in developing recommendations to address the state’s water quality challenges. She built a partnership with Agriculture’s Clean Water Alliance to deepen the understanding between rural and urban stakeholders. She negotiated partnership between Iowa State University and the Great Outdoors Foundation to develop a regional parks plan for Central Iowa. Also, collaborated with local health departments and nonprofits hospitals to develop a regional Community Health Needs Assessment.
Bethany has a Graduate Certificate from Iowa State University in Geographic Information Systems and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Community & Regional Planning.
Additional volunteer experience includes the Des Moines Water Works Park Foundation, ISU Extension & Outreach and College of Design, Governor’s Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity, Jester Park Nature Center Campaign Leadership, and the Great Outdoors Foundation.
She and her husband, Vito, have three dogs and enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, and discovering new music.
